New CEO and additional board members for the FAC

The FAC is pleased to announce new roles in its all-artist board.

Mark Kelly (Marillion)
has been appointed CEO of the Featured Artists
Coalition
as of February 2011.

Mark: “Being called CEO of anything sounds a bit grown up for somebody who never had or wanted a “proper job”. However, I’m pleased to be offered this new role within the FAC and will continue work towards empowering artists while campaigning for greater transparency and fairness in our dealings with the rest of the industry.”

Crispin Hunt (Longpigs) has joined the FAC board. Crispin is very active around Westminster and has already made a great contribution to the FAC’s political influence.

Crispin Hunt: “It is simply stunning that music creators have taken so long to become organised. Actors have Equity, screenwriters have the Writers’ Guild, authors have the Society of Authors etc, etc. All of which have dramatically improved the working conditions of those industries…. but we have nothing. By collectively representing ourselves and creating a platform from which creators can mobilise,
we become involved with the decisions that shape our future and the future of the sale of our music”

Chris Difford of Squeeze is another new board member adding new blood to the team.

Chris Difford: “I’m thrilled to be part of the team and i cant wait to support the ideas everyone has in which ever way i can.”
